EndSARS: Naomi Campbell calls for international bodies intervention

International supermodel, Naomi Campbell, has continued to lend her voice to ongoing #EndSARS protest. She took to her Instagram Live in tears to express her sadness towards the recent shootings of peaceful protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate by the Nigerian army. In the emotion-laden video, the model called for an intervention from international bodies like UN, UNESCO and Amnesty International. The teary-eyed model said, “The UN, UNESCO, Amnesty International, please step in and help. Do not let this happen.   Burna Boy through his new single has given an active voice against the alleged shooting of #EndSARS protesters, bad governance, corruption, and police brutality in Nigeria. Burna Boy who released his new song in support of the incident that happened on the 20th of October, 2020 stated that nothing can be said or done to justify the death of the unarmed peaceful protesters. You would recall that some #EndSARS protesters at Lekki Tollgate and other parts of the country were allegedly shot by some security agents during the protest against police brutality. The security agents in army uniforms at Lekki Tollgate were said to have shot at the youths who were peacefully protesting. NED NWOKO ACCUSED BY KINSMEN OF USING THE POLICE FOR INTIMIDATION AND FORCEFUL ACQUISITION OF LAND: Jails Kinsman

  Residents of Idumuje Ugboko community in Delta State have accused former senator, Ned Nwoko, of using the police and Ministry of Justice to dubiously harass, intimidate and lock up elders and sons of the town The residents stated that Nwoko had successfully bought over senior policemen in Delta State and Abuja, who allegedly assisted him in intimidating and arresting those, who opposed his attempt to forcefully acquire additional 90 hectares of land from an area earmarked for all indigenes of the community. In a “Save Our Souls” petition signed by Jerry Isichel and Daniel Osakwe and submitted to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, the residents accused Nwoko and the police of malicious destruction of property, disobedience to the order of the court, assault occasioning harm, abuse of public office, unlawful arrest, false imprisonment and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace. The petition reads, “Ned Nwoko has visited untold cruelty on the people of Idumuje Ugboko.

Beyonce’s mother Tina Knowles has responded to critics after her daughter met with backlash following her support for the #EndSARS protests in Nigeria. Beyonce who yesterday said she was “heartbroken to see the senseless brutality taking place in Nigeria” was slammed by critics who accused her of profiting from Africa yet keeping quiet about the troubles in the continent.
